Namings: This ceremony offers parents the opportunity to present their child to the community/family group, ceremonially name the child and recognise chosen 'Earth parents'. First Moon: Honouring the sacred rite of passage of a young woman coming of age. With a focus on transition, self respect and personal responsibility. This ceremony can be an intimate gathering or shared with the community. Blessing the New Mother: A ceremony during pregnancy to acknowledge a woman's transition from maiden to mother. A step towards the wise woman within. Croning Ceremony: A major event in a woman's life is when she crosses the threshold into Cronehood, the wise woman. This ritual can be an acknowledgement of all the knowledge and wisdom gained in life and the move to becoming an Elder. Death Rites: Ceremonies to mark the passage of death can be tailoured to your wishes. Handfasting: Love between people is the core of human existence and every union is a cause for joy. Pagan weddings or 'Handfastings' celebrate and applaud this love and the promises people wish to make to each other.
As an experienced celebrant, Lynx offers traditional personalised ceremonies in Brighton and elsewhere for couples who are looking for an alternative to church services. Couples can have a beautiful traditional ceremony where, when and how they choose. The Handfasting ceremony will be tailored to suit the needs of the couple who can decide on their own vows and specific elements of the ritual. They can choose to join for a year and a day, for life or until love leaves. They can choose to jump the broomstick, tie the knot, exchange rings, laugh, dance and sing. Handfasting is not a legally recognised wedding ceremony in England. If people would like their joining to be recognised they will need to aquire a document of marriage or civil partnership at a registry office.
