I qualified as a psychotherapist in 1997 when I completed my MA in movement/body based psychotherapy. I have developed my Sacred Psychotherapy practice as a fusion of all my knowledge and understanding of the human experience. This has not only come from my academic and experiential training as a therapist, but has also come from my training as a mystic and knowledge of the ancient Qabalah. This fusion serves the psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the client and has proved over the years to be an extremely successful and vibrant method of healing. My work helps people to move from pain and trauma into health, spiritual growth and empowerment.

Feedback from past clients:
I wish to thank you greatly for the amazing work you have done with me. I feel it was beautifully specific, spot on every time, hugely intuitive and yet your extensive training in psychology was reassuring to my more logical intellect. I always felt in a safe space, in control and empowered each weekly session of my entire year with you as my therapist. This was truly a unique experience.
New Sacred Psychotherapy Group - at the Anahata Centre Brighton
Sacred psychotherapy holds the understanding that a child's relationship with their parents, particularly their mother is extremely important to the health of the future adult. A consistent loving relationship between the parent and child is absolutely vital to healthy ego development which is essential for successful independent adulthood.
When this bond is secure and the child feels loved and accepted, they can cope well with the many difficulties and traumas of life. But when this relationship is flawed or absent the child is unable to grow into healthy adulthood and continues to repeat unhelpful patterns of behavior in the search for the love and acceptance they didn't receive as a child.
Many people suffer with symptoms throughout their life and the roots of the suffering are clear but sometimes symptoms don't begin until a later traumatic incident and the connection is often missed, leaving people frustrated in their healing process. People who have had a troubled parent-child relationship often suffer from symptoms such as:
Inability to have healthy relationships
Anxiety and stress
Sexual dysfunction
Self depreciation
Self harming
Eating disorders
Depression
Post traumatic stress
Psychotic experiences
Loss of self
Co-dependence
This group will help people to identify and heal their issues by discovering and working on their cause and origin using both magical and therapeautic healing methods. This Sacred Therapy group will focus specifically on healing the deep wound that is caused when the parent's love is absent or inconsistent and the child is left feeling alone, scared and abandoned. This could be for a number of reasons - physical/emotional illness, death, adoption, working away, boarding school, abuse (by the parent or by someone else where the parent is unavailable to support/protect) drug use or the parents' own emotional insecurity/anxiety.
In a loving and supportive environment, this ongoing group will focus on healing by exploring the past, recognising reflections of this in the present and working towards a healthier future. Group therapy is also very useful for helping us to identify and heal unhelpful patterns of behaviour and projections.
The tools of Group Sacred Psychotherapy practice include:
Talking Stick (verbal sharing)
Authentic Movement (body based exploration)
Telling your story (sharing your history)
Creating the new Sacred Mother/Father
Healing journey work
Meditation
Nurturing the inner child
Re-scripting the past and the present
Choosing a new future
Core Belief restructuring
Ritual of the Sacred Circle (finding your place in the universe)
The group will begin in March 2011 with a taster session. If participants decide to continue in the group they will be asked to commit to a further 10 weeks in order to create a sense of understanding, safety and trust within the group. Each group member will be asked to provide a confidential historical and mental health background and disclose to me any prescribed or non-prescribed drug use.
The groups will be held at the Anahata Centre on Edward Street in Brighton
Each 1.5 hour session costs £25 or £20 concessions.
Sessions will be on Tuesdays, at 7 - 8:30pm.
